Returns are not a problem, getting your money back is...

On theregister.com: Comet was sold for £2 (that's a two, not two million) to its new owners. Then the old owners paid £50 million to cover cost of extended warranties etc. The new owners shortly afterwards bought another company for £50 million, but that is probably just coincidence.

The 'owners' are an investment group hence the £2 sale and subsequent purchase of other companies.

Buying from them Apple wise is a non-issue as Apple provide a replacement if needed for faulty goods.
