Are you talking about the little X in the notification? Yes. That would be nice.

Why have an 'X' when you can swipe it to make it go away immediately?

Hitting x is easier

Not really. Those with bigger fingers would have a harder time pressing that button. The swipe gesture is friendly to everyone.

Not a major thing. Add it to iOS 6.1...

Since when?

HazyCloud

Since when?

Since we got Notifications. Just swipe it when it shows up and it'll disappear.

Nope.

Nope you are incorrect.

I don't know, mine opens up the app, so it would be even more annoying.

When you say swipe to get rid of it, do you mean swipe down to notification centre then back up?

Swipe up I guess
I'll try it next time a get a message

That opens the app up, which is more annoying than just waiting for the notification to go away.

wait what?

Pull the notification down a few pixels and it will snap back up out of view faster than waiting for it to disappear.

Those with bigger fingers should have an easier time hitting the x..

I think it looks worse.. Swiping up or away would be a better solution.

I think you can already swipe to dismiss it though

no, not if you just swipe from right to left...

Instead of the 'X', I think they should add swipe to right to dismiss it.
Currently, you swipe it down a bit and swipe it back up.

You can just swipe left, although they should allow you to swipe both ways. Swiping left feels a little awkward since I'm right handed

If you're right handed you're not going to swipe right to left, you stated to swipe sideways, should be more specific.

I wish that Apple made the Notification center disappear while in-game. Meaning that when a game works in full screen the give me an option to turn off the pull down if the notification center, and I say an option in the game menu or even the phone options where I can chose to have it show like now or not show at all. Try playing Fruit Ninja... Apple crippled that game IMHO.

Well we need something like this. I'd prefer swiping either way but an x could be put there to please both preferences

I've always tried swiping to the right! Didn't think to try left...

I'm left handed...feels wrong to swipe to the left when I hold the phone in my left hand...

I agree. They can just put a toggle in NC like there is in Mountain Lion's Notification Center

And instead of a tiny X, have a button:

iOS doesn't need more buttons, what we need is gestures; Apple mastered gestures on OSX, they need to step up their game for iOS.

Wait, so jailbreaking slows your entire phone down but you do it so that you can toggle bluetooth on/off more quickly?

Swiping from right to left works great.

We don't need more buttons, Apple should make people more aware of these things.

Well obviously I would have other tweaks like intelli screen x ect. The Bluetooth toggle needed to be more accessible 5 updates ago.

There is a problem with how Apple's handling the swiping. Half the time when I swipe a notification banner, nothing happens, and sometimes it launches the notifying app.

Similarly, on my iPad home screen, I've got to get the tiny point of my finger just right in the groove to open a notification into the desired app. And my fingers are pretty skinny.

As with any issue, some people are not having this issue and I'm pleased it's all "just working" for them, but I hope they're looking at making this work better for the rest of us.

lol well said. I find it doesn't work that well, or maybe it's just not flawless like we've come to expect from Apple. I would prefer an X. I know it's not impossible, but IMO it's even more inconvenient with the iPhone 5 to stretch up with one hand and swipe vs. the 4. Looking forward to some type of improvement in iOS 7 although I would welcome the change even sooner.
