My 20 gb iPod is just about full so I need to uncheck the blue-boxes in itunes to keep songs in my hard drive but not on my iPod unless the box is checked. The problem is that even when I uncheck the boxes, the songs remain on my iPod. Can somebody please help me figure out how to only transfer the checked songs onto my iPod. I am sure this is simple, I just can't figure it out.

Have you ticked Only Update Checked Songs in the iPod preferences (in the iTunes preferences when the iPod is plugged in)?

It is unchecked by default from memory. :)
