i am thinking about buying a computer with a Pentium 4, with 2.8 GHz with HT technology 512mb ram

should this be able to handle p2p sharing apps like kazaa or morpheus and run three web browsers and run a word doc program and windows media player smoothly at the same time?

This could be a joke I suppose, but you DO realise that this is a MAC site right?

I would hope so with all the ranting and raving going on about the HT CPU's (although personally, I haven't been very impressed... Shouldn't be a problem, though, assuming you don't pick up any nasty infections from the p2p clients themselves, the files you download using them, any of the three web browsers, etc...

Get a Mac. Get Limewire. Get Office 2004. Or get out of this forum.. lol just kidding you should be fine with that system if you really want a PC over a Mac. :)

What does HT do? (explain in layman's terms, don't link me)... Is it a stability gain? Performance? All I noticed is that the computer thinks it has 2 CPUs...
