I had just clone my HDD using "Carbon Copy Cloner" to an external hard drive and planning to install Mountain Lion on this.

My question is, after installing Mountain Lion on my current MacBook Pro, how do I restore my previous old data towards this new OS?

Will the data I "Clone" using "Carbon Copy Cloner" replace the OS (Mountain Lion) in my MacBook Pro with Leopard again?
What I want is just the data (iCal, Addressbook, iTunes, Apps) to be transfered to Mountain Lion.

Please advise. Thanks;)

You use Migration / Setup Assistant for that.

which includes:

I don't think this will work, because it says "Setup Assistant is designed to transfer all or selected data, apps, etc. from one Mac, or its Time Machine or "clone" backups, to set up a new Mac just like the old one."

I only have 1 mac and planning to upgrade the OS on this from Leopard to Mountain Lion.

The data you clone will be on another hard drive, right? Then you just point Migration Assistant to the HDD after the install.
