I thought we determined that the adaptor is not for the full size dock. It's for accessories only and does not fit inside the dock. But the nano will fit in the full-size dock just fine...it'll just have some extra space around it.

Oh, and to the OP's question, I don't think any retailers have it yet.

You're right - I never use the dock and so never really looked at whether it (the adapter) fit into my 4G dock. It doesn't.

WildCowboy,

you're correct. I bought my iPod from Sharper Image.

I went to the local Apple Store and they told me it is
NOT meant for use with non-nano docks. Only the
nano dock will work with the nano perfectly. However,
the iPod mini dock, which I currently have, does work.
(but the Apple Store manager told me they had two
customer bring back broken nano connectors already for
using the nano in the iPod mini's dock)

I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait. :)

I just verified that the nano works just fine in a 4G dock (so, presumably, in a mini dock). I strongly suspect the broken nanos were due to the fact that the nano, because it's so small, is freestanding in the dock (not inserted into a fitted concave area) and so could be snapped backward or forward if you're not careful. However, if you don't smack your nano around while docked, I'm sure the mini dock would be perfectly fine.

You can order from Apple.com and be one of the first to have one. They ship in about 1-2 weeks. Steve said the accessories would be rolled out over the first month after the Nano was announced.
