JD Fortune, the guy originally from Nova Scotia, Canada won the Rockstar:INXS series, he originally started off doing a cover of one of my favourite songs, although it wasn't the greatest, but I'm glad to see someone from Canada win an "international" contest :)
I've never watched any of the episodes of the show since it reminds me too much of American Idol but with rock music, but I'm glad to see JD win

Yeah, the show doesn't come on for another hour here.
Well, since I know who wins, I kind of figured it was going to be him. He was the one I hated the most, had the cheesiest moves and said the stupidest crap. BUT, he was more Michael Hutchence vocal wise than the others. All he has to do is grow out his hair and not be such a douche-bag.

And here I thought no one else watched the series - which I thought provided some good entertainment... aside from the promo for the Dell DJ Dippidy Doo or whatever it's called.
While I was no fan of J.D.'s, it seemed pretty clear that the gig was his to lose - INXS really needed someone who could pull off their extensive back catalog of songs, and J.D. had the best look and voice for it.
However, I expect good things will happen to Marty and Suzie, and probably Mig (although I suspect he might disappear again to the London stage). And, by the end of the tour, it wouldn't surprise me if JD were given his walking papers.

I thought he would win but for a different reason. INXS was wowed by his song "Pretty Vegas" and clearly had designs on recording it soon after his selection. JD has talent ... lingering question is whether his personality will truly blend in over time. You can waver between a love and hate relationship with him without difficulty.

Yeah, I started off really liking the guy but was put off by his behavior after a few weeks. Then he seemed to realize that he needed to shape up, and, for the most part, he did. He could potentially be a great addition to the band, but I could see his ego getting in his way. Or... he could really run with the opportunity. I guess we'll know by next year.
And, yeah, Marty was a favorite of mine (as well as Suzie, who I knew wouldn't win but who seemed very likable as a person). But Marty will be just fine.

Marty performed admirably and I was very impressed throughout the competition by "Sweet" Suzy McNeil, especially when turned in her stellar performance of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Yeap, Marty and Suzie are great singers. I loved the way Marty has sang a song by The Killers and Franz Ferdinan's "Take me out." And Suzie, well we will see hear again soon, there is just to much o talent and to big of a voice to disappear.
