Why? Do we actually need an upgrade? The current models are amazing, all though I am sure some one will complain about the price.

I think the current models are great, I just wish that they will lower the price of the 30".

I think the only thing that you could possibly look forward to is a price reduction. But I wouldn't hold my breath ;).

We most likely wont see an update for some time. A year at least. Apple used the older "aqua" displays for a long time. You might see a price drop here and there, but thats about it. The current line up is very good.

we have to design a commputer system for a career.

For CFO of apple I have a dual 2.7 with two 30-inch screens... DROOL.


ok, it's 15k$, but the company is paying for it.

...also that's ONLY for the desktop, I haven't figured in my 17" powerbook price yet! :):)

acd's are amazing displays...everyone knows that...expensive? yes..but you gotta pay the price for quality...the one thing I would like is maybe firewire 800 ports or to have other inputs so you can use PiP or PbP but those are minor issues...

guys im only asking because i want to get the 23inch and if there are rumors for new ACD in the following months i can wait for prices to fall

Apple can still improve the ACD by:

1: Increase the specs, contrast ratio, etc...

2. More ports and options, maybe a TV Tuner. ;) :)

3. Lower the price to be competitive. :p ;) <-- yeah I had to mention it. :D

it's true. they use the same exact screens and look how much cheaper Dell's monitors are. AND Dell's monitors come with more ports. The Apple ones look nicer, but obviously there are plenty of Apple fans on this board that still pick the Dell's cause the price/ports, and i don't blame 'em.
