okay, here is the situation -
i have 2 physical hard drives installed in my G5:
A drive - OS (Tiger 10.4.2)
B drive - data, movies, music...

on the "A" drive on the left there is the shortcut named "Movies" (standard setup, just the way Tiger installs)

what i want to do is this:

i want to click on the link for "Movies" (on "A" drive) and have all my movies stored on the "B" drive come up.

how do i link these things?

(i hope that all made sense...)

Also how do i do this with iTunes??

THANKS

Drag the second drive's movies folder icon to the shortcut bar on the Finder. Is that what you mean?

You can even drag the original Movies folder out of this shortcut bar if you want. In fact, you can copy its icon, paste it into the second drive's movie folder and it'll look flush too.

nope, that copies them, it doesn't link them...

Just to clarify, I was talking about the very left part of the Finder. It shouldn't copy anything.

Yeah, mad jew is right, you should be able to just drag your "B" movie folder into the Finder sidebar.

As for iTunes, go to Preferences > Advanced and change the "iTunes Music folder location" to your "B" drive.

Yeah, mad jew is right

There's a first for everything. :p

Finder sidebar.

Sidebar! That's the word I was looking for, not the Shortcut Bar. :o

okay, the above method DOES work if i want to drag my entire movie collection over to the "A" drive.

i just want to create a link to access the "B" drive. with the Movie link on the sidebar.

Are you dragging your B movie folder into the empty space at the bottom of the sidebar, or onto the Movies icon? You need to drag to the empty space, otherwise it'll copy the files into the existing (A) Movies folder.
