I'm using Lion 10.7.5 and Firefox 17.0.1. Within the past few weeks I've encountered cyclic freezing with Firefox. About every minute the Activity monitor shows 110% or more CPU use when it normally is 2-3%. There is a spike of disk activity and a CPU blip which lasts only as long as the lock-out and the mouse stops working and I can't enter anything on the keyboard. Originally I thought it was the Adobe Flash player so I removed that with no luck then set Firefox on safe but it still occurs. It seems more and more a problem the longer Firefox runs.

A check on Mozilla shows others have encountered it but there is no solution, only generalized suggestions the type you get when you call into your cable TV network. All Mozilla offers inthe way of a solution is it will notify you when they solve it.

Thanks,
