I need to installl motion and am currently using a powermac g4 dual 1 ghz proccessors with an nvidia geforce 4 ti. When i try to install motion it says my video card is not up to snuff to run it. What is the minimum video card i need and how much does it cost? Is it worth it? What are some other benefits of upgrading my video card?

I believe that the minimum is an fx5200 or a Radeon 9600. Motion is a very video card heavy program, so upgrading will see a difference. However, for a useable card, your gonna have to spend $200, as i beleive that the 9600 PC & Mac edition is the lowest you can go.

I agree, get the best video card you can afford, it makes a huge difference, and it's really worth it because the strength of Motion is it's real-time interface, and it just ain't real time unless you have the power to run it

For the G4 the Radeon 9600 Pro and 9800 Pro are the best buys.

I'm not sure if the 9800 Pro (128 MB VRAM, AGP 4x edition for G4) still is available at the AppleStore.
But the 9600 Pro Mac & PC edition ( :cool: ) definitely is, for $ 199,-
Not as fast as the 9800, but it does have double the VRAM. I'd go for the 9600. (BTW.. the 9600 has a Dual Link DVI port, so if you're planning on getting a 30"...)

i am using dual 17 inch apple studio displays right now, will they both be able to work with either of those graphics cards? Does anyone know what the best video card my computer can handle is?
