View Full Version : 2012 Mini Won't Wake From Sleep

Two times now... yesterday when I got home from work, and this morning when I got up, my new Mini wouldn't wake. I had to hard power it off and back on.

In both cases, I heard the fan spinning, like something was sucking up CPU time. As usual, I would tap the Shift key on the keyboard to wake it. Instead, the power light went from solid to the fade-out/fade-in that would indicate sleep. And it would never wake. I tried to connect to it from my 11" Air, but couldn't.

I looked in the logs, and my limited experience with this stuff doesn't have anything jumping out at me. Here are two excerpts. First, yesterday's:

Both nights, I went to bed around 10 PM. Yesterday, I didn't try to wake it til I got home from work, but I didn't hear the fan spinning on it when I was up at 6 AM getting ready for work. Now, I did access this machine over the network (from bed) on my 11" Air to copy a couple of files, but that was it.

Any idea what the problem might be? I'm guessing it's software-related which is why I posted here instead of in the Mac Mini category.

Thanks!

Rob

I have the same problem with my 2012 mac mini. I was connected from home until 11:00pm, this morning it won't wake up again. Keyboard lights are off, trackpad doesn't work. I tried remoting into it using vnc, that doesn't work either. I ended up hard resetting it. This has been happening for last coupe of days. I don't recall installing any new software. Console log looks similar.

Thanks.
