Does anyone have a preference?

I hVe been trying out both lately, as I now according to benchmarks safari should be faster...but in have notices that I rarely can see a difference, and sometimes chrome is actually faster when loading image heavy websites.

Anyone notice this? What browser so you use and why?

The google search app combined with chrome is a pretty slick combination.

Just looking to have decent discussion on the advantages these two browsers offer.

According to benchmarks like sunspider, Safari is much faster.

The syncing of bookmarks and iCloud tabs is handy across my devices and Mac too. I know Chrome supports this but I don't like it on OS X as you have to login with a google email.

I use safari because it is easy to just click a bookmark. Chrome seems to be a ballache, (unless I am missing a setting, somewhere).

Yup and the fact you cannot choose a default browser! I am surprised that Apple have not been pulled on on anti-competitive rules like Microsoft did with their browser choice screen.

Chrome or nothing for me. I have it on all of my devices and love how bookmarks instantly go from one device to the other. I also have nitrous on my JBn iphone to speed up chrome and it is definately as fast as safari.

I really like the Dolphin browser the ability to swipe from the side bookmarks is nice.

I prefer Chrome myself, use it on OSX as well so I can sync all my bookmarks and whatnot. Their is also a Browser called mercury you can sync from Chrome or Firefox which isnt bad either.

Chrome easily. I miss setting it as the default browser on my jailbroken 4s. Apple really need to open up iOS more now.

Safari. Reader Mode FTW.

And I'd just as soon not have Google monitoring and monetizing my browsing.

Safari because of:

- Reading Mode, I cannot live without this.
- it's faster
- reading list
- it's faster

Agreed, I tried using a Nexus 7 but just couldn't get used to the lack of Reading Mode.

Chrome, same as I use on OSX. Better tab switching, more tabs open, and sync between desktop.

If I used Safari on my Mac I'd probably stick with Safari, but if I could replace Safari as the default on my phone I would.

Depends on what kind of computer I have at the moment. If Windows or Linux based, Chrome. If OSX, Safari.

I think they each have great strengths and weaknesses. The older I get though, the less frills I need with more of a focus on function. Since I have delved out of technology a bit more every year, and my main purpose of being online is updating and reading a few medical blogs, Safari works fine.

Safari, because browsers on iOS are deliberately held back from using the latest tools to let them perform on par with Safari. On OS X I use Chrome, but the Mac is not as integrated as iOS and with Safari being the default browser for links, etc its just easier as well as far quicker.

safari because its built in and I also heard that apple cripple other browsers so they run slower on ios, but this could be untrue.

Chrome. The blue bars in Safari look old and are distracting. Safari has faster JavaScript performance but in real-world page loading Chrome is just as quick maybe even a hair quicker. Plus tabs are just done way better on Chrome. The only thing I miss from Safari is Reader.

Has anyone really noticed a speed difference? Honestly chrome often loads quicker side by side.

I know technically safari should be quicker, but that hasn't been my experience lately.

I prefer to use safari on my iPhone because ita fast and reliable, however I like to use chrome from time to time because of its feature to save favourites and bookmarks between my iPhone, and main computer and our servers at school. Did I forget to mention the 'incognito' feature too? ;)

I like Safari. Everything is in sync across my computer, iPhone and iPad. It's fast, simple and works well for me. :)
