Genesi, a PowerPC-based computer manufacturer, has announced (http://www.genesippc.com/press.php?date=20050926) that they'll be making systems with the 970MP (dual core G5) processor. OSNews (http://osnews.com/comment.php?news_id=12002) has some coverage.

It'll probably run OS X via Mac-on-Linux, but I'm pretty sure that this would be a breach of licence. I think it comes with Linux and MorphOS (http://www.morphos-team.net) (their current systems come with these).

Along with the news that the Freescale dual core e600 will be delayed til the second half of 2006. :(

And likely expect the new full e600-core G4 to face a similar delay, so it looks like the 7448 bridge chip may be the last G4 Powerbook (if even that) -- and the delay once again has Jobs pissed as they have to do a last minute update to the 7448 while probably killing the new chipset.
