I just bought an old Pismo, but the HD is making a lot of noise, not only when it's reading or writing, but all the time. Is this normal on older harddrives? I've got a rev. C PB 12" that I never hear anything from, and a LaCie which I can hear sometimes, but is not like the Pismo.

I've done some googling, and the IBM-DJSA-220 HD in the Pismo, is from what I understand not the most quiet, but still. Mine's loud.

I took a HD test with TechTool Pro, and the S.M.A.R.T.-test showed an error with "Load/Unload Cycle Count". Everything else was OK according to the test.

Can anyone give me a hint on what's wrong? If anything is wrong... I would appriciate it very much.

This is normal. HD's used to be a lot louder. My girlfriend's pismo does the same thing and my older lombard did it as well.
