That's the G4 iMac. G5 owners, nothing to worry about here.

Also from this article:
"...the bottom of the original PowerBook G4. It actually reached 84 degrees Farenheit".
Mine actually reached about 86 degrees Farenheit on my lap, and it wasn't even on!!

The title is a bit confusing, it should say how to replace your Imac G4 logic board.

Not sure why someone is worried about the laptop bottom reaching 84 f or even 86 f when your body temp is 98.6 and it take greater then 120F before you get a burn...

I was hoping this would tell you how to keep the iMac G5 cooler, my brother says the fans tend to stay on a lot. Oh well...someone really needs to fix that title ;)

Heated legs leads to sweating .. sweating leads to moisture .. moisture and and electric devices leads to zapping .. zapping leads to fear .. fear leads to anger .. anger leads to hate .. hate leads to suffering... And so I conclude that using a warm laptop leads you to the dark side,

And yea, it would take a lot of sweating of your legs to lead even remotely to a possibility of an electric zap. My iBook does keep me warmer than I would like when I have it on my legs, but I will probably enjoy it as winter approaches, hehe.

yeah, whoops. fixed the G5 to G4 problem. Submitter should have caught that. But then again, so should I.

I sometimes perfer my laptop to be warmer in the winter...you can pay a little less for heating if you turn on the PowerBook, grab a blanket, and make some soup ;)

Unless your heating is electric and so is the stove...then you'll just raise the cost of your elecrtric bill. *theory proven wrong*

Not everybody throws away technology when a new model comes along.

I'm happy to hear that, Apple making improvements. Though I used to a constant fan with my Power Mac G4.
