Probably not. You can pick up an iBook for ~$50, often less. If you want an iBook, I recommend just selling your touch and buying one.

You could get a newer, better iBook by just selling your iPod. But if the one you are considering trading for is in good enough condition, get it.

Yes. G3 were good, not anymore.

If you ever get an iBook, make sure it is a 1.33 Ghz or above G4 processor.

What he said.

If it has a G3 processor, then yes, it's a G3. Not worth it. I wouldn't get a G3 Mac unless it was as a collector's item, or if I wanted to run OS 9 and the apps that come with it.

If it's a color clamshell, then it's a G3.

No, most of the G3 iBooks were white- the Clamshell only went up to 466MHz.

OP, if it is a G3, turn it down. If a G4, it'll be usable but slow. I would advise against this trade.

Right, I didn't say all G3s were colored, but that if it is colored, it's a G3.

Edit: I see what you're saying now. Didn't see the OP posted it was 800MHz.

Oh, just remembered. If you intend to sync the iPad, you are out of luck. If you have an iPhone 5, you are also out of luck. I believe the 4/4S require iTunes 10.6. iTunes 10.6 requires OS X 10.5 which requires a G4 processor above 867 MHz. However, if the iBook is a G4, you can use LeopardAssist to put Leopard on it. G3- no Leopard.
