Ibook won't recognize AVI on DVD?!!?!?

I got a few movies on a DVD in AVI format... When I put the DVD in a PC, it recognizes the file as either Windows media or Realplayer and has no problem playing these files... however, when I put the DVD in my Ibook, it doesn't even display any of the files on the DVD!??!?!

I tried using Windows media, Quicktime, and VLC... Usually VLC has no problem playing any files. however, it doesn't even see ANY of the contents in the DVD...

Can anyone help?????

i had a problem similar to that before, it turned out that i didint have divx installed. That might be your problem, if not then idk.
