Here's a quick video I thought someone here might enjoy.
As an assignment for our Physics class, we got to throw things off the football stadium. :D (Then calculate velocity, acceleration, etc. )
Most people brought in things like pop bottles, eggs, etc, but my friend Kyle managed to get hold of an old (fried) 19" Gateway 2000 monitor.
So... I put together a quick little "music video" of the fun.
Enjoy :D

That is pretty awesome. Wouldn't mind doing that with our school's computers ... ;)

I'm impressed it took two tries to break the glass on the monitor.
I'm also surprised no one brought a bowling ball or watermelon - Dave Letterman had the classic ones.....

Shocked us too--but it turns out the glass is about an inch thick, so they're pretty durable.

Didn't the Chemistry and biology faculty have a little discussion with you about phosphorus and lead and potentially mercury contamination of the surrounding area and students

Well... ummm...
Out Physics teacher is also the Chem teacher... and he OKed it.
I, on the other hand, warned people to be cautious around the stuff. Although they weren't very cautious, everything went fine.
(Though one student decided to rub the phosphorus off the glass with their finger... They're fine, though.)

hahaha good stuff. yea crt monitors are extremely thick. you will be surprised by how thick some new traditional Tube tv's are.
at circuit city, we had a 40" Sony XBR tube tv. XBR being their top of the line so some heavy dutty glass in that sucker. yea, the 40" tv weigh 315 lbs

Very nice timing of the music at the end. Great stuff. :D

I wouldn't have thought it to be a problem for a one-off. Is phosphorous really that bad?
Great little video that. Nicely done :)

Good job.
Perfect 'role' in a 'movie' for a gateway monitor ;)
