What's this vram I hear people talking about. The equivalent to L1 and L2 cache in the world of PC's? Or just video ram?
 
No problem. 🙂

Ignoring the fact a PPC processor (Mac for now) is different to an x86 processor (PC), L1 and L2 cache on either is similar although not comparable if that makes sense.

Makes sence, but no difference to me, since I dont get the technicalities of cache on either platform. 😱

How much cache does PPC's have anyway? (present G4's)

A link to a technical document would be nice (the G4 again) 😉

Go to Apple's website, and in the hardware section, you can pick a product and then look at its technical specs. The amount of cache will be there.

1.5GHz PowerPC G4 processor with Velocity Engine,
512K SRAM on-chip L2 cache, 167MHz system bus.

How does the SRAM memory differ from x86's memory? Any remarkable difference?
