That could be any compressed heavy Sans. Except it's not Helvetica Compressed.

Could be a version of Franklin Gothic Condensed judging by the shape of the '2 and the $'

Edit: But then again, the lighter versions have curved strokes on the '2'. So maybe not...

It even looks as though it's been horizontally scaled.

Agreed it's not Helvetica. Is this the only sample of the text you have? You might want to try Linotype's Font Finder (http://www.linotype.com/5-5-5/fontfinder.html), which asks a series of questions about the fonts and gives you candidate fonts.

It does appear as those it's been artificially compressed, especially looking at the tracking of the two "F" characters.

It's IMPACT.

Not quite. Impacts' 2 has a more curved downwards stroke although the $ looks identical.

Not my Impact. Lined up pixel for pixel. Squashed the OFF, but that was it.

Scratch that. At 200% magnification, it was off a pixel or two. Close enough in my book.. :D

Yeah, see the 2? It's not quite the same but you're right... it's prob. not that important.
