I just bought SOF:2.
I also own Q3 and UT.

Hitman, how is RtCW multiplayer? I really like SOF's multiplayer, but some of the maps suck. They're always the same thing.

Thanks,

Can this be right? No one here plays Stronghold? When I bought my mac that's the one game I made sure I would be able to play!

Otherwise I've also bought:

Oni
4x4 Evolution (doesn't work, so I can only presume it's no good)
Heroes of Might and Magic III
CivII

But then, I'm not so big on gaming (obviously).

Two words:

Holy ****.

I deleted my TO install just to make room for extra maps. The MP is to die for with varied maps and goals. They have a beach assault, an airbase level, a u-boot bunker level, etc. The weapons and classes are balanced. Team play is essential if you want to survive and win. You follow the lieutants and call for medics and you make sure your team-mates guard key objectives, i.e. blast spots for the dynamite. Oh yeah, there are engineers too. Your commanders can even call in airstrikes if you are pinned down by a machinegunner.

During the summer when I was not playing TO, I would stay up to the wee hours of the morning playing the Beach level over and over and over and...well..you get the point. It never got old the entire 6 months it was on my HD.

I deleted it from my computer at the beginning of the fall semester, because I was worried it would eat up too much of my free time....just like TO had. ;)

Games I bought this year:

Halo
Madden 2003
TimeSplitters 2

Yes, I bought an XBOX, and I like it. The graphics are superior to any other console out there. This is actually a good thing because it will get SONY off it's arse and force them to make the PS3 much higher quality than the PS2, sicne Nintendo can't take on SONY in this area. Nintendo is becoming to the console gaming market what the Mac is to the desktop computer world.

I would gladly not even own a console if it weren't for the fact that my Titanium PowerBook has none other than an ATI Rage 128 Mobility 8MB GPU in it.

MOHAA
WARCRAFT 3
TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON/DESERT SEIGE

Tropico, CivIII, and Links 2002 CE.

Removed the first two to make room for the latter.

Have Marathon 1-3 (Trilogy Box; bought for my antique 6100/66 back in the mid-90's) and the Rubicon scenario (http://www.marathonrubicon) under os9.

Also have various Masque slot games under os9.

I downloaded that nifty Alchemy game on my .MAC account.

Just got Myst: Exile, but haven't installed it due to space limitations. (Hmmm... maybe if I stick the osX Developer Tools on my 30gb external...)

Waaaaay too many PC games to mention, though if yer into Age of Empires, there's a really great clone called Cossacks (an add-on pack is out, as well). One of my fave fave fave games ever. (It could probably work under Virtual PC.)

Only one new game this year, WCIII.

I also one Q3, Oni and Black & White. Those three and Dark Castle are the only games I've ever completed (and I'm nearing the end of WCIII).

Not huge on the computer games as I'm sure you can tell :)

Whew.

Only had a Mac for a few weeks, so the only game I've bought is Baldur's Gate 2. Looks sweet on the little iBook. I was thinking of getting Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. I've heard the Quake III engine runs well on the Mac, but will the Radeon 7500 32MB be able to handle it? Has anyone out there played MOH on the new iBooks?

As you can tell, I'm not a big gamer, but I do enjoy Strategy and Role-playing games, as well as the occasional action game.

I bought it at a CompUSA in Orlando but I haven't seen it for a while. Of course, it was a full $50 compared to the PC version at $20, but...i wanted it.

Since I haven't played it for a while...

It will run fine on your machine.

If my old 8MB Rage card can handle it, than your Radeon is more than enough. :p :D

I got Ghost Recon the other day. :)

Unreal was a FPS with a concrete story line and a relatively good GFX engine.

UT is based on the original Unreal engine, albeit with major modifications and enhancements.

UT is primarily based for MP and Internet/LAN gaming. It has a decent single player mode with bots.

The franchise has split into two major catagories, the MP and story-driven game.

Unreal 2 and UT2k3 are both related but fufill different purposes.
