Porn doomed BetaMax, if Apple stops the Porn industry then others will take the iPods place. Remember VHS won because Vivid Entertainment used VHS, not BetaMax....

Umm, an Adult iTMS Video Store. I think that think different porn site is going to start supporting iPod Video format for its cilents since most of them are Mac users.

Good question - it's one of the 'big' markets certain people would like to see downloadable and streamed on 3G Video Phones, since the content would be going over a Mobile Operators network, they need to sort out the slightly dodgy legal issues.

I guess with an iPod you're free to download the content via the Internet and then load up your iPod.

I don't think I like the idea of someone sitting next to me on the bus, watching porn on their phone or iPod though - it's somewhat different to something printed on Page3.

When the Porn industry gets behind a product, the product does well. That's a general trend.

We won't see porn sold from Apple online, that's a PR disaster. But I expect some 320x240 videos to become available from other venues. The best thing for Apple to do is to encourage it without officially supporting it.

I think it'll definitely be used for porn in Japan... after all, there it's commonplace for adults to read manga porn out in public.

Porn industry backing or not (although I doubt the "not"), porn videos will appear on the video iPod the day the first one is sold.

Just like porn pics appeared on photo iPods the first day they were sold.

Nah... Too many people like to look through the stuff on your iPod to have porn on there. Then again, I really wouldn't care if someone saw my porn, I have nothing to hide. All my friends know I (and just about every 18 year old with a penis on the planet) look at porn.

But I wouldn't put it on there. I never think about/need my porn when I'm on the go :p.

I think that one big reasin the WMP is going to be around for a while is it's support for DRM in the porn industry. Video on demand and all that. Apple needs to get on board with this sort of thing if they are to win. I don't mean they get direclty involved with porn but Quicktime should support this sort of thing the way WMP and Real do.

You guys are wasting your breath speculating. I am certain that somebody has already watched porn on the video iPod. In fact, I bet one of the Apple engineers volunteered to perform a "stress test" on a pre-production iPod and then uploaded his whole porn collection from his computer.

And that bit about going blind is just a myth. I've always needed glasses.
