It's a long story but I have a SSD from a 2011 MacBook Air. I'd like to access the contents. Am I correct in believing that I can get an external enclosure (or preferably a simple adapter cable) to do this? Is the connection on the 2011 Macbook Air SSD a micro SATA? I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. Help would be appreciated.

The connector is not a micro-sata, but Apple's own propriety connector.
You can find a USB3 (backwards compatible with USB 2,0) enclosure here: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3ENVOY/
If you're in Europe you'll find the same here: http://macupgrade.eu/catalog/owc-envoy-usb-3020-for-apple-macbook-air-2010-2011-ssd-p-846.html

I bought one for a mid-2012 MacBook Air (http://macupgrade.eu/catalog/owc-envoy-usb-2030-enclosure-for-apple-macbook-air-2012-ssd-p-907.html) and it's working perfectly.

It is not standard Msata. OWC sells what you want here (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3ENVOY/).

Is this true for Late 2010 MBA as well? It seems that it is mSATA (micro Sata) in this.
Do you know?

None of the Airs use mSATA drives.

Thanks for the clarification!
