JBL and Ipad Trouble

Hi. I recently purchased a JBL Onbeat Venue speaker dock for my Ipad and I absolutely love it. However, when I try to watch videos from my Series 9 app on the Ipad, it shuts down every ten minutes. The speaker system shuts itself off and myipad goes into lockdown mode. I have tried adjusting the screen lock settings on my Ipad to no avail. nayone have any idea of what might be causing this?
