Hi,

This is a features (also on iOS) that totally baffles me. the "on this mac" for calendars, addressbook, etc.

The purpose of which totally - absolutely - escapes me from the moment an iCloud account is linked to the device (mac, phone, etc.).

Can someone be so kind as to explain what this is useful for and/or how to totally disactivate the "on this mac" option (this is only possible for linked accounts).

I am frankly quite tired of having to hunt down on devices the calendar, or address book, entries that were not replicated thru iCloud.

A sincere thank-you for any answer

...It means what it says. On this Mac holds data local to the computer. Other data are stored on servers somewhere.

I think we all understand that. What is absolutely not clear is

1 - what is the use for that once you have an iCloud account connected to the iMac

2 - why is "on this Mac" taken as the preferred account?

But I remain baffled by point 1.
