hi all

I have a macbook pro 2011 with 2GB x 2 ram

I have been on the crucial memory website and ran the software that checks what I could upgrade to. It has suggested i could install 8GB x 2

I am wondering if it is worthwhile doing this? Will it make a big difference in performance?

Thanks for any help!

Restart your computer then use it for a day or so as you normally would. Then start Activity Monitor from /Applications/Utilities and click the system memory tab. Look at the Page outs: section. If that still says zero, then you are unlikely to benefit from more memory and your current setup is sufficient.

If you are running low on available memory you will start to see page outs to the disk.
