My guess is this question has been asked and answered many times, but a quick search, did not reveal it. I decided to upgrade my MBP to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. I launched the App store, bought ML, and now on the App Store Page, it says downloading, but I'm getting no progress info. Edit: Found that under purchases...

Questions:

Where is the download file kept? I've read that it goes to home>Library>Application Support> App Store. I looked in there and while I see something in there that might be it, it is not clearly marked.

If I turn off my computer, will the download pickup where it left off or start over again?

After download and install, will this file remain or be auto deleted? If deleted, is there a way to save the file somewhere else?

Will it auto launch and try to or offer to install? I assume on the App Store page, the button will say install.

Does this upgrade require anything to be done with my Bootcamp Partition or should that remain uneffected?

Thanks!

Mountain Lion is saved in you applications folder as an app.
It will disappear after upgrading.

Copy it to a different place before you install it.

It's supposed to, but I had an interesting situation where it didn't. In a folder called "Lost+Found" I had a 4.35 GB file with no extension called "inode" followed by a bunch of numbers. A Google search revealed that many other people had a similar file, and some reported that double-clicking it revealed the Mountain Lion installer. I tried mine and sure enough, the Mountain Lion installer mounted.

Granted, if you want to make an offline copy of the installer then you should do it as Peace suggested. I wouldn't count on that "inode" file being there - it certainly seems like it was supposed to be deleted.

Sound like your disk has some problems. Boot to the recovery partition and run Repair Disk in Disk Utility. (NB: Disk, not permissions.)
And make sure you have a backup.

No issues, I've done verification many times before. For what ever reason the file just wasn't deleted, and it seems that quite a few other users had the issue as well. I upgraded to Mountain Lion at version 10.8.0, though; perhaps it was a glitch in the original installer that has since been fixed.

Or perhaps not. Lost+Found folders are something the OS creates when things go wrong in the filing system; it's not something that software would create itself from a bug.

Thanks! I moved it before installing, but installed from the application folder and the moved file is still there after ML install.
