I am thinking of getting the 2012 Mac Mini i5, upgraded with 16GB RAM as a general use machine, and occasionally to connect to an HDTV. First of all, would the i5 with these specs be up to the task of running 1080p on a tv without any performance issues. My second question is that since i will be installing Windows 7 through bootcamp, can i use a wireless keyboard like Logitech K750, which will work on both windows and OS systems. Can I use the Logitech K750 for PC (NOT the mac version), for use with the mini for both windows and OS.

It can run a 1080p tv in fact after the 10.8.3 update it is doing a very nice job with my 46 inch sony.

You can use that keyboard, but remember when using a non mac keyboard you need to figure out the

control, option and command keys.

Also, would you recommend getting the pc version of the keyboard, or the mac version... in terms of functionality

I have the apple version and it works for pc's I will photo it. THAT KEYBOARD allows me to use 3 different computers 2 diy pc's in the photos and the mini. in one photo is the usb2 switch that lets me switch the mac version to the mini the first pc and the second pc.

if I had a pc version I could do the same but my control of the mini would suffer more with the pc keyboard then my control of the pc's suffers with the mac version.

one photo shows the low cost usb2 switch I got it at amazon

I do not have any suggestions on which version would best suit you.

But, I just got the Mac version of the keyboard to go along with my new Mac Mini. So far I really like it, wish I would have picked one up sooner.

I have the Logitech K760 (the same as the K750 minus the number keys, plus F5 is the home button for iOS devices), and it works perfectly fine.

You can switch the command and option keys in the System Preferences under Keyboard if you happen to have the Windows version.

It charges itself via frickin' solar cells. Is that awesome or what?

Hi there, I am having a dilemma on which keyboard shall I purchase for my Mini.

I am currently using a Logitech keyboard K400 which has windows keys and lately I have been wondering that it is not convenient to use a Mac on Windows keyboard. I am also using Logitech G700 Gaming mouse as my pointing device.

I would like to buy a wireless Mac keyboard. I am always concerned about the battery life of a wireless keyboard, hence I am attracted to buy either K750 or K760.

If I am not mistaken, K750 uses Logitech's unifying receiver which seems to have more constant connection rather than bluetooth. I would like to confirm with you guys whether K750 has more stable connection than K760 (for example, bluetooth always requires some time to do pairing, etc.)

I am also attracted to Logitech K811 keyboard which has backlit keys (though it is very very expensive).

Can you give some inputs regarding my choices? Thank you in advance! :D

I've had the white Mac version of the K750 since it was available for preorder - so going on 2 years (or more - can't remember exactly when it arrived).

It uses the unifying receiver - so both it and my Performance MX mouse only take up one USB port. Connection stability has never been an issue.

My home office is not super well lit and it sits on a pull out keyboard tray, so it's not getting full sun or full incandescent much of the time when it's tucked away. Since I've had it I've never received a low battery warning, or had any other charging related issues. I never look at the battery app....I just sit down and start using it. I'm using it probably 2 hours a day during week days when I'm at work and 4 or 5 hours a day on weekends or weekdays I'm home. I'd have no hesitation ordering another - even after reading that logitech forum thread.

I am happily using the K810 for both OS X and Windows 7. Just be aware that if you want to use the Alt/Option button to change OS then you'll need a wired keyboard instead.

This has been the case for me except I have the board for 8 months so far.

i have this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178332

i have older versions of these two

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822108132

i prefer the synology over the seagate.

i would rate them 90 and 95 out of 100.

the seagate is about an 85 out of a 100

the silver case next to the mini is a pegasus r6 which I consider to be a great piece of gear. uses thunder bolt and i store movies tv shows music a tm and a osx clone i it.

Yeah i'm looking at finally getting off FireWire and either invest in a NAS or go Thunderbolt - The Pegasus would be be great but out of my budget thats for sure!

look into the synology . they are pretty much bullet proof

if you buy this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833156251

you can add these as needed

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822108114

they can be stashed far away from your ears with cat 5 wires very reliable pretty quick for storage. tm etc
