Alright so my macbook air(128 gb sad) would say it had about 10 free gb of space and after a couple of days of use it would keep freezing programs saying it was out of space. I would restart my air and it would work fine for a few more days but the same thing would happen again. So I thought maybe I should clear off some space thinking it was just because the ssd was pretty close to being full anyways. So now I have about 35-40 GB of free space. Same thing keeps happening but it takes a longer time before it starts acting up. It froze up some programs so I checked how much space I had and it said there was only 200 mb of free space. I proceeded to restart my mba and now it says I have 42 GB.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What is this "Other" in the storage tab? What is eating up my space? (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1302889) by theSeb (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=478484)

To find out, where you storage capacity is being used, you can use the following free applications:

DiskInventory X (http://www.derlien.com/)
OmniDiskSweeper (http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnidisksweeper/)
JDisk Report (http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/jdiskreport/)
GrandPerspective (http://grandperspectiv.sourceforge.net/)

Maybe try a combination of several, if you still can't find the "missing" capacity.
