I have an older 15" powerbook, a 1.33ghz model and the LCD currently has some of the white spots that have been a problem in the past. Apple said they will replace the LCD for free, I just havent had time to send it in.

Does anyone think there is a possibility at all that if I get the LCD replaced they might replace it with a newly released higher resolution LCD? Or are they just completely incompatible?

Here's to hoping....

Even if they are compatable they are very unlikely to replace the screen with the new one. Apple maintain a stock of components to allow them to complete AppleCare/warantee work with like-for-like components.

I think it would fit if you bought a screen and hacked it in there yourself, but as for Apple replacing it with a higher res screen... No Way.
