I keep reading all these glowing reviews of Toast. Aren't the programs bundled with Tiger adequate? Or is Toast really as fantastic as they say?

it is, especially for cross-platform burning of CD/DVD ROM's. ;)

Or is Toast really as fantastic as they say?Oh, yes! :)

Of course you can do most things with different built-in features in Finder, Disk Utility, iTunes, etc. but Toast does all these things and more.

An easy task like copying a disc is painstakingly complicated with Disk Utility, but done with just one click in Toast.

Since I've never used finder or any built in features to burn files across or I should say "split" data for multiple dvd/cds, Toast 7 seems to be the answer for that. Copy dvds that you made yourself with ease as well. I've used Toast since my first Mac using OS9 and wouldn't go without it :)

T7 is actually a very good upgrade, it is catered towards the iMove, FCe, FCP people.

The only weak portion is the create DVD option. Then again I only used it once.

Overall not bad at all. :)

Toast allows the end user to do more with they data. The built-in application in OS X is good if all your family and friend use a Mac, however that possibility is not realistic at present. :)

DiskUtility is also good, however at times it can be limiting.

You can burn EyeTV recordings directly from Toast 7 instead of having to export them first. It would be really cool if it automatically extracted EyeTV program info (e.g. episode details) and created nice "credit" screens for each recording.
