Don't know if it's just me- but I'm suddenly unable to see any google pages.
Can anyone check this quickly for me.
Thanks.
Christian

Google does seem to be down, it has happened before though.

Down for me as well. I just thought I was having trouble here at work.. Denial of service attack?

It's back now

(Doubt it was DOS attack... It would take a monumental DOS attack to take Google down)

Still down for me as well as other parts of the 'net not working so well, including some of the ad servers for MR are timing out.

Something big went down.

Thanks. For some reason it freaks me out when Google goes offline. First sign of alien invasion you know.

Microsoft probably had something to do with it.

I imagine Bill Gates pushed the red button in his office. ;)

Man don't do that when I'm drinking coffee...

As for a massive attack. Google has been taken down like that before. Akamai even got the smack down a couple of times.

I think this is what caused the net slowdown-- LINK (http://www.boingboing.net/2005/10/21/two_tierone_isps_are.html)

Essentially, two "Tier I" internet backbones were down at the same time.

Apparently it has now been fixed-- Live Link to Internet Health Report (http://scoreboard.keynote.com/scoreboard/Main.aspx?Login=Y&Username=public&Password=public)

Here's a Slashdot thread (http://slashdot.org/articles/05/10/21/0958232.shtml?tid=215&tid=95) with more info.
