WANTED: iMac Power Cord

Hey all! I really screwed up yesterday while vacuuming, I ran over my iMac G4 flat panel power cord, and seriously damaged it. It's the one with the Micky Mouse connection, same as the Mac Mini. Luckily the computer was not running. Does anyone have a cord laying around? I appreciate it!

We're talking about the G5 right? I know the G4 uses the Mickey Mouse looking one, which you can grab off of eBay or Radio Shack.

It's not the standard "D" shaped connector, but more like an electric razor plug with three lobes rather than 2 (hence the "Mickey Mouse" nickname, it looks like the maus with beeg eers.)

Do you have an Apple Sotre locally? if not try Comp USA goto the tech desk they sometimes have some in there bins in the back that techs use, I'm sure if they have one they usually have ten. :)

I have an extra that I would be willing to sell for $18 shipped. I lost mine, ordered a new one, then found my old one. I'd be selling the new one.

It sounds like a ripoff, but they cost more (as you can see in the link, other stores sell for more believe it or not.) Ugggg, wonderful proprietary Apple accessories (MSRP is apparently $99 according to welovemacs.com???) Interesting that the Mini uses the same plug, didn't know that.

Don't know how how much the EBay auction ended up at, but I was meaning to eventually EBay it.

You might be able to use a regular 2-prong cord, but don't know how safe or advisable that is.

Okay, that's cool. I think I may have actually ordered from them. I would order over the phone, and make sure you ask them about when it will ship. I was happy with my order, but didn't get a confirmation email about shipping.

If you do need it from me, I can ship out today in the next 4 hours or so. I will ship first class or can possibly do USPS Priority for the same price.
