PANICKING HERE!!! :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I just did a clean install of OSX Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air 2011.
I did not want to restore my mac from a backup. I wanted to transfer files manually so that I leave what I call the hidden junk behind. Now that I've done a clean install, I am unable to access the previous backups on time capsule. When I enter time machine, it does not show previous backups, everything is greyed out like brand new... How do I get my files back???

Option key click the Time Machine icon in the menubar then select "browse other backup disks..." then choose your old backup set.
