Hi Guys,
There's a stutus window top middle of the Xcode window that says things like
"Compiling 2 of 2 sources", or whatever....

What is it doing when it says:
"Indexing 0 of 8 files"?
and is there a way to turn that off?

I think Indexing pertains to its ability to recognize keywords across files - IE, you define a property of a class in one file and its able to auto suggest that you type the property in another file because it indexed the first one. So you wouldn't want to keep it from indexing files.

I could be totally wrong, but that's what my impression was.

I too have it in my head that it relates only to the editor.. Spell check, etc.
I don't have much choice.
There are lots of PCM data in C arrays as part
of source files now, and that "Indexing" bogs
down the whole IDE so I can only type at snail pace.
You can interrupt it to compile, so that's why I think it's only to do with the editor.
