Need Help With: Erasing all data in Disk Utility

I'm trying to delete all information (everything!) off a Mac and am having trouble with the disk utility. I open it up and click on "Erase" and only the "Erase Free Space..." option is lit. The other two "Security Options..." and "Erase" are not lit so I can not click them.

Anyone know what I need to do?

Yeah, that's probably going to be the best way to do it.
