In the native Messaging app - when typing in a phone number that you want to text, it brings up a list of previous contacts (contacts that are no longer in your address book, but were at one time). Is there any way to clear this list?

Thank you

Read somewhere that this works?

1. Go to contacts
2. Type number in search box
3. Go to arrow
4. Scroll down and delete contact
Don't not restore phone that's crazy, don't listen to these other people.

I don't have any phone numbers in my text history that aren't contacts so I can't test it.

Yeah, thanks ... just tried it ... it only displays contacts that you currently have.

Somewhat amusing since your reply was apparently off-base.
Besides, no one recommended a restore, I simply mentioned it as the only known fix for thread starters question.

I copy and pasted those instructions from another site. I didn't even notice the "dont listen to others" part when I pasted it here. so that's not me saying it :)
