View Full Version : [iPad Mini] Is there a difference in the charger between the ipad mini and the iphone 5?

They both look exactly the same, my pantech element android tablet charges up faster than my mimi so I thought maybe I used the iphone charger by accident..

Is there a difference? both say 5v

Same thing. Model numbers and voltages are the same.

If you want to charge your iPad mini in less than half the time of the 5w charger, you can buy the Apple 12W USB Power Adapter (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD836LL/A/apple-12w-usb-power-adapter).

Another one here to confirm that they both should be the same. I have two chargers, one I got with my iPhone 5 and one I got with my iPad Mini and they both are the same.

as stated, same wires different voltage cubes, they both charge both devices but the ipad cube will charge the ipad quicker

Also, the 12w iPad charger is not a cube. It looks rather different from the charger that comes with the iPhone and iPad mini.
