PB in Shrinkwrap/buying @ an apple retailer..?

Totally and utterly, yes. It doesn't come in shrink wrap. is there any reason for you to think this has happened? scratches, signs of wear or opened documents? Do the serial numbers match? Was the seal broken?
 
i think you are being paranoid.

apple, who try to be a repectable retailer would probably not allow this to happen!
 
The operative word is "try".

However Steve also has to answer to APPL shareholders, and between trying to be a reputable vendor and actually maximizing profit..... 🙁
 
You got a 1 year warranty so I wouldn't worry about it. If there are obvious signs on the PB that it was used, return it.
 
when you turn it on it should prompt you to input your name, register, etc... if that prompt doesn't appear, someone has definitely used the computer before. there is always the possibility that the computer was meant to be restocked but the apple retailed just resold it instead. it's probably new, I wouldn't worry about it because there really isn't anything you can do about it unless the computer is defective.
