http://images.macrumors.com/article-new/2013/05/realracing3.jpgEA today announced (https://www.facebook.com/realracing/posts/10151626774119292) that an upcoming Real Racing 3 update will take the game to Dubai, adding twilight races at the Dubai Autodrome in the city. Currently, the game offers races around the world at real tracks in places like California, the U.K., Belgium, and Germany.

The update will also include additional events and cars, adding to the game's current selection of over 900 events and 45 cars. EA has released a teaser trailer that contains a sneak peek at some of the content:

Despite being the first freemium (http://www.macrumors.com/2013/02/27/controversial-freemium-game-real-racing-3-hits-the-u-s-app-store/) offering in the Real Racing series, Real Racing 3 has managed to maintain a 4.5 star rating in the App Store and it is still ranked as one of the top five racing games in the App Store.

While EA did not give an exact date for the Dubai update, the company did say that it is "coming soon" to both iOS and Android.

Real Racing 3 (http://appshopper.com/games/real-racing-3) is currently available in the App Store for free. [Direct Link (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/real-racing-3/id556164008?mt=8)]

This is definitely the best game I've ever played on the iPad. Nice to see it getting more updates.

It may be freemium, but I've never spent a penny for it.

Freemium.

Two things going wrong for this game.

It's actually an amazing game, it doesn't have restricted features and you don't have to spend money to fully enjoy it.

They're too busy adding the 203,114,718th in-app purchase to the game.

I was sceptical at first as well but now it's the game that I spend the most time on. And it's true, you don't really have to spend money to fully enjoy the game.

It is potentially a good game but EA did almost everything they could to ruin it.

You might not have to spend money, but you wait forever for everything.
Want to repair your car? Wait or pay with coin. Run out of the hard to get coin? You can buy some.

Want to upgrade a car? Sometimes you need to buy coin? Sometimes, the upgrades are priced insanely compared to what upgrades on real cars cost.

You spend more stinking time waiting........and waiting...........instead of playing and playing.

Let me pay at reasonable price so I don't have to wait to play. At least on Android, there are ways around the waiting.

Game play, when you can play, is awesome.

I like this game a lot, and I've never spent any real money in it. I kind of wish there was a larger variety of cars and tracks though, other than that it's great.

I tried that game I wanted to like it but compared to Need for Speed Most Wanted that game is a lot better. I would hope that would implement the same features and functions of Need for Speed Most Wanted for future games. That game got all the functions corrects everything works on it as it should.

I had Real Racing 1 and I was a little worried that the "freemium" model would kill Real Racing 3. Then I downloaded it and realized I was wrong :) I spent $2 on a car to get started and that was it. You get game money for racing so as long as you keep on winning races you don't have to spend real money on it. I just wish the music was better.

the best game on iOS just got even better.
i have to say, this game has the best graphics, it's like you're playing the game on a ps or xbox. EA has done it's best, this game is awesome, really addictive.

I just wish the music was better.

One of the first things I did was turn the music volume to 0. It makes the game so much more real because you can hear your tires at the edge of losing traction and can hear engines of your opponents coming up behind you.

The visual candy in this game is amazing. Little cues like the sun glaring off of the pavement really draw me into the race environment. I'm really excited for the update.

I've never spent a penny of real money and you can get around the waiting on IOS if you choose to. I just use that wait to go race another car, or heaven forbid, put down the iPad and do something in the real world.

Real Racing 2 came to iOS first also, and the Mac version followed about 4-6 months later if I recall.

And I agree that it really should come to OSX.... because for MacOSX there are a few racing wheels we can use. Trying to wiggle your iPad around as a steering wheel is so dorky. ;)

P.S. --- if you really want to get their attention for MacOSX development... their Twitter page is very active, and they seem to listen to their current iOS customers for daily feedback.

great! this game needs more circuits! I came from RR1 too and at first i didn't liked the system but now when you have a few cars you always can run with one of them if the others are in maintenance.

Game play, when you can play, is awesome.

Just buy a second car with the winnings from your first. When your first car is being repaired or upgraded, race with the second car. When your second car is being repaired or upgraded, race with the first car.

You're free to hate things based on any reason, or no reason.
