Has anyone else seen this article by the staff over at iDownloadBlog? The grainy picture seems pretty realistic of what Apple might be doing for iOS 7. Here is the link: http://bit.ly/17hBcJc

Fire away with your thoughts

[Update]: 9to5mac tweeted that this could possibly be a photo from a leaked early ALPHA version of iOS 7:

iDownloadblog has gotten hold of a very blurry screenshot taken of an iPhone they claim is running iOS 7 and have recreated the icons using the screenshot as best they could.

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/06/02/unified-ios-7-icons/

Probably fake, but thought I'd share anyway.

If it is fake...which there is a high chance of it being fake...they did a good job keeping it in line with what people think its going to look like.

The excitement continues. Thanks for the share.

That first "screenshot" seems to be more than out of proportion and proper angles.

I like it, hopefully, if this is fake, it is something close to what the real iOS 7 will look like.

It looks like its supposed to be a screen shot of a legit phone but then why not just screenshot the actual phone etc.

That said, we'll know in a week but I'm not going to be shocked if they look basically the same as they do now but without the gradient backgrounds.

Could be new "swipe" to the left effect to get to spotlight or widgets.

Same thing happened last year with maps remember? BGR got a picture of the phone running the new maps, not an actual screenshot.

Looks really wonky though. What's stopping someone from loading a Winterboard theme they made?

True. It does look similar to iMIUI

Fake me thinks! If Apple was removing the over the top skewmorphism then why is newsstand as ugly as ever?

Also past icons have so much depth and then the new gamer centre icon has almost white like background., it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple stole this idea from the jailbreak community. It wouldn't be the first time either: Notification Center, wireless syncing, lockscreen notifications, volume button used as shutter for camera, etc.

The same reason why UFO videos are so blurry even though we have the tech to video someone in 1080p no problem.

I hope this is real. The Camera, Messages and Music icon look fantastic. The only negative is the continuation of the sunflower Photos icon, and that Newsstand is still alive.

Does anyone else think the Game Centre icon looks like a gold coin going into a slot? Than again, maybe it's a gold medal, but I don't know what that black blob could be.

IF this is legit, I think what we're looking at is a photo of a photo of an iPhone running the software. At first glance I was confused also but if you imagine someone sneaking a quick photo, showing it to someone... Once this process repeats a couple of times it kind of makes sense.

And IF this is legit, I quite like it. Its subtle and easy on the eye.
I've said before that Apple will still want a recognisable OS. Yes, they'll make some changes but not completely changing everything.

So you're basing this all on a grainy photo of what someone claims is new app icons for iOS?

Considering the newsstand icon is as fugly as ever I call BS on this, or its an early version that's incomplete. But if this is legit it puts to rest this lame idea that iOS icons are going to look like Windows 8.

apparently this is a really old pic of iOS 7 which was being tested and a lot has changed since the picture was taken, nothing to worry over yet.

Uh yeah whatever. That wouldn't look too bad I guess. I don't understand the obsession with new icons anyway. Can't imagine I'm the only one not staring at my home screen icons all the time though. I wanna see some new functionality and Apple to open up more APIs to devs.

Ever try to video a UFO, star, moon with your iphone camera? It's Zapruder, Patterson, Loch Ness type of quality. Just sayin'

Low light makes any HD video camera crappy unless you can control the aperture 100%.

I think its really bad. The icons themselves have to change.

Just removing the glare from the current icons is a bad idea and i dont think it will look something like that.

Why the hell is everyone flipping out saying "If this is the only thing thats changing....blah blah"? Of course its not, get a grip. If this IS legit its just a single screenshot. Imagine all the magic one you actually tap one of those new icons!

Eh, personally don't find the change any significant or interesting.

Never had an issue with shiny icons and would be disappointed if this was what they spent 50% of their time and resources doing rather than bringing more practical features.

Developers don't "spend time" doing icons. Those are graphical elements a UX team designs and simply hands to a developer to include in the bundle of the OS.

A designer can't develop iOS anymore than a software engineer can spend time developing hardware.

At this point, we're a week away from WWDC. I'm not believing any "new images" that are "purported early looks" at iOS7. There are too many Android nerds in mom's basement out there with too much free time and plenty of motivation to troll the Apple community.
