As in streamline the displayed name of an artist in all of their songs so they're all the same?

For example from my downloading days I have multiple versions of Tupac's name varying from song to song: 2pac, 2Pac, Tupac, tupac, 2pac Shakur, etc. if I wanted to make them all "2Pac", is there any quick way to do that?

Also is there any quick way to auto-capitalize all song and artist titles? I'm trying to clean up my iTunes library. Thanks.

Don't know of any intelligent metadata manager (am not up to date what's out there).

However, if you are brave, iTunes' catalog is in an editable XML file, there are XML editors out there, so with a little CAREFUL work, you can just say, like on a text editor, replace all tupac to 2Pac. Highly recommend backup first, make a few change see if they stick, and continue if successful. Can't help with auto-Cap.

Just highlight all the songs with variations of 2pac in the "song" view. right click and edit them all at once. Just fill in the Artist and Album Artist with 2pac, or however you wanna spell it. Not that hard.

You go to the XML file to edit the artist? Seems pretty excessive to me, just highlight the tracks in iTunes, Cmd+I, change the artist to what you want.

A company as "advanced" and innovative as Apple should have a feature that automatically capitalizes artists and song titles as well as detects similar artist names.

I work with customers, who some time insist on, if I can think it, then you can do it! they seem to imply.

I just wish Kemosabe. I just wish.

If they have a sense of humor, I throw out the, anything is possible, it just takes more money.

And a human being, an animal thats so "advanced" and innovative as they are, that can't follow easy 3-click directions, should just give up on technology if you can't follow those quite simple steps.

I honestly don't care if people pirate music. You'll get no sanctimonious finger-waving from me.

But I do think it's ridiculous to expect Apple to put in any time and effort to fix the problems that arise from downloading pirated tracks. They invented the iTunes music store as the easy solution to these problems, why should they go out of their way to make the alternative downloading methods more appealing?

A large majority of the tracks I download are from CDs I have already bought and lost/scratched. Any high profile mp3 software should accommodate these issues.
