Since updating my iphone to ios7 beta 1 my cheapo copy usb lightning cable will not charge my iphone.

The iphone shows the message 'this usb accessory is not supported and may not work correctly'

It still charges my ipad4 on IOS6 just fine.

The Amazon Basic one is legitimately licensed.

This could be a quirk or bug. It could be intentional. Can only guess at this point.

It's almost like Apple are telling us to jailbreak. Mine comes up with the not supported message, but still works with iTunes and charging.

My knockoff lightning cable gives the same message, but still charges the phone.

Well, my one isn't charging. It stays at 1% with the charging symbol.
Swap a with another cable and it charges up. Go back to the 'fake' and it drains till 1% and stays there .

My cheap cable stayed at 1% last night(it charged yesterday AM just fine on iOS7). I restarted the phone w/o unplugging the cable and now it charges fine.

I can't decide if I think this is a bug or intentional crippling by Apple.

My third-party cable warns me, but works fine for syncing with my Macbook Pro, but won't charge.

If I plug the same cable into the charger that came with the iPhone it won't charge. If I plug it into a third-party charger with enough power to charge an iPad, it charges, though maybe a little slowly.

Before iOS 7, ALL of these things worked perfectly.

It's almost as if iOS 7 is more picky about the amperage or something, but it could be Apple being a bunch of jerks. :)

Interesting move Apple. I would jailbreak mine just to get rid of something like that
