Angry Birds creator Rovio (http://www.rovio.com) has a new game in the works, which is teased on a newly released website that features a bird dashing down a pathway. "Something NEW is coming!" reads the site, and in a blog post (http://www.rovio.com/en/news/blog/310/ready-set-angry-birds-go/), Rovio says the game is unlike its standard Angry Birds titles.

http://images.macrumors.com/article-new/2013/06/angrybirdsgo.jpgThose birds and piggies are getting ready for their most thrilling and action-packed game yet! All your favorite characters are returning for a brand new title that will bring you closer to Piggy Island than ever before. It's Angry Birds, but not as you know it!Our sister site TouchArcade speculates (http://toucharcade.com/2013/06/12/rovio-teases-new-angry-birds-game-angry-birds-go/) that the game might be an Angry Birds themed runner or racing game, which makes sense given the teaser. Rovio didn't reveal when the game might be released, but did say that additional updates will be released over the summer.

This screams of the "2D to 3D platformer" movement of years gone by.

Is Angry Birds really the new Sonic / Mario / etc?

Honest question. Does anybody still care about Angry Birds?

Glad I'm done with Angry Birds games after the first year.

Honest question. Does anybody still care about Angry Birds?

Kids under the age of 15 seem to still love it. They'll still sell several million copies.

Another Angry Birds, another endless runner. Does anybody still dare to be innovative?

They only need Angry Birds Star Trek and then the series can end.

please stop with the Angry Birds. It had its moment in the spotlight. Now it needs to fade away. Now I'm just waiting for their next "new" release; Angry Ninjas or Angry Zombies

The only decent runner is Mega Run. This seems like it'd be more like Catapult King.

They've gotta do better than that to get my attention. Sure, I enjoy the AB games, mostly (except their misfire with horrible thing where you had to build a wagon or whatever it was)... but, I confess, I'm burning out on the concept.

Cause we need more "Angry Birds" and games for our iPhones and iPads. Let's see, game, game, games entertainment, game, oh, Pages, game, game, iMovie, and, another game.

I thought tablets were taking over in the post-PC era. Seems they're more for entertainment and consuming/buying more, while most corporations still use desktops for that thing called "work". Hmmm. :p

this just means that instead of finally releasing the levels missing on pigs and space they will just make a new game and make us pay for it -.-

I enjoyed the original Angry Birds game. But when I discovered that Rovio had "updated" it with in-game advertisements, I never launched it again.

I'd rather have the originals. Not so keen on Temple Run: Angry Birds.

Yes, how dare they try to make a business run! Evil! Evil I say!

Luckily Apple never asks for money for anything. Or any other company for that matter.

If it still sells, why the **** would they stop?

Would you have liked that Apple just stopped in 1997-whatever-ish?

Just don't buy them and that is all!

I enjoyed a lot to those games, but haven't played in a long time... a long time. Before the Empire.

I am not a fan of Angry Birds but this is America, they are living their American dream and providing jobs -- you should be happy for their success, and if you don't like it, don't buy it

Rovio = Swedish ≠ American

Looks like another forward runner, like Temple Run or that subway surfing game.

Sheesh, don't these guys have an original bone in their bodies?

Err no Rovio = Finnish ≠ Swedish ≠ American. ;)

Anyway, I thought the original concept was clever if not completely original - the film derivations et al were boring but Angry Birds Space and Star Wars were pretty clever twists. Bad Piggies is also a very clever concept well executed.

If you don't like it fine, but millions do and why does it bother you if they do? Just don't play it.

I actually do like the Angry Birds cartoons, I think they are very well done and have some of the artistic values of the old cartoons.
