I've seen number of websites with possible specs. But when does apple officially announce specs usually? Most sites say fall. So when does apple post which machines will run this and how much ram, etc I need? It's already very close to fall. Only few months away.

And I have a Mid 2011 mini.
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

It came 2gb of ram And I tossed that out and added 8gb.

So is this good enough for maps, all the eye-candy, heavy apps etc? Or do I need better and this is too slow?

I assume it has to be good as no new mac mini cam out in 2012 or 2013 so far. But it could still lag with integrated graphics and such for all the new features coming out. So just curious.

And what kind of machines is everybody else running the previews on? Just curious.

You will be ok. Mac's going back to 07 will rum it. http://www.tuaw.com/2013/06/11/macs-compatible-with-os-x-mavericks/

That Mac will easily run 10.9, which basically is an optimized (i.e. faster) version of 10.8.

Great. Oh and also have they set an exact date for release. Or its just generic fall for now.

I think if your computer can run Mountain Lion then it can run Mavericks. Does that seem correct to everyone?

That is correct, if your computer boots into the 64-bit kernel you will be able to run Mavericks.
