No matter what I do I cannot change my desktop image ~ System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver, even the Apple supplied images wont change & yes I've rebooted multiple times, reset the NVRAM / PRAM to no avail.
From google searches it would seem I need to edit/delete the com.apple.desktop.plist file. From the Finder > Go > Hold Option > Library > Preferences, there is no com.apple.desktop.plist file. Also around the time this problem started my profile picture changed to the default one on the logon screen. I'm stumped!
