I thought that was more geographically related, but I may be wrong...

hmmmm......stock photography. I've seen that young guy in my student planner.

Would Apple really approve us...you know considering our title.
We can just be "mac forums"..... but we can do regular meet ups, and "give out/contest" free apple stuff ;)

but do we really need to be?
It might (or might not) be useful for the guides thingy, because they send promotional DVDs out to user group contacts with Mac porn and such.

I have a feeling Apple mightn't be to fond of MR

It's kinda funny but Steve Jobs is how I discovered MacRumors. Remember a few years ago when Steve gave the keynote introducing the G5 Powermacs and said yes the rumor sites were true (apparently Apple had accidentally posted the webpage too early and there was a lot of speculation that there was no possible way the specs were correct-- although they were). I'm not sure if he made a specific reference to MacRumors or not, but I had never even thought to look for an online community for Apple rumors. I did a google search and sure enough, I found this site. Been lurking around here ever since.

Theres more than a couple Apple Rumor sites floating around in wide canyon that is the internet.

I would assume there are also PC/Windows rumor sites but who really wants to know what the next big spyware thing will be.

I've also wondered if Apple approves of MacRumors or not. It is obvious that this site does help convert PC users to the Mac side, and it also provides a friendly and diverse knowledge base that many people might check out before going to Apple for answers, but then again MacRumors does its best to tell everyone about Apple news before Apple wants them to know it. Personally, I think of it as building suspense about Apple products rather than giving away Apple secrets.
