why is my arrow IN my screensaver?

when my screensaver activates everything is normal, except lately in arrow is in the screensaver. when i test the screensaver in system pref's the arrow is not there.

this happened before and i reinstalled. but i just reinstalled 2 months ago, and it is happening again.

is there anything that i can do to fix this?
has this happened to anybody else?

Drag the divx 5.component file out of the Quicktime folder in the user's Library. That should clear it up.

Well what do you know...!?
I have (had) that problem, too. Removing that file seems to do the trick.

See, you learn something every day.

There's a bug (as far as I can tell) in the divx plugin for QT.

DivX 5 does not support Mac OS X 10.4 or QuickTime 7. We are working with Apple to resolve several compatibility issues.

Toast 7 Titanium includes the new DivX. It's cleared up the double Help menu under QuickTime for sure, and I haven't seen any arrows in my screensaver.
