Jack: If they want to drink Merlot, we're drinking Merlot.
Miles Raymond: No, if anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any ****ing Merlot!
Perhaps if it had been Jesus Juice merlot...

Great movie. Book made me cringe though.

Ha, thanks for that. Funny movie, good memories and that just brought both back :)
Were I to care I would be slightly offended by all of those, but thankfully/sadly I don't care, so it's fine. I doubt I'll be buying it because it's a trend-setterr label, doubtfully a good taste

I still think the most disturbing mental picture for me, by far, would be Micheal Jackson as a spokesman for the Nintendo DS. "Touching is Good".

I think it's cool. Jesus was partial to the odd wine or six. I've never understood the christians who say it's against their religion to drink when Jesus himself drank. It's so weird.
We had Duff beer here in Australia for a while, made by a brewery in South Australia. They got sued and shut down by the creators of The Simpsons and now the stuff is worth an absolute fortune.

Historically, at least in America, it was part of the reason for Prohibition - religion took on the vices of America and wine, beer, alcohol was anything but Jesus Juice - it was all the work of the other guy :D
I don't like the image because of the MJ reference. I think that might be crossing over the wrong lines for me and regardless on what it tastes like, I'd probably avoid buying a bottle.
I love the HeBrew Chosen Ale - that's classic :D

I keep forgetting you guys had prohibition. Rum was an official currency down here for a while.

nice! a liquid currency - but how would you know if it was watered down a bit, eh? :D
Can't even imagine what prohibition would be like. Saying that drink is the work of the devil is like saying guns kill people....but we don't need to go there

Reminds me of that family guy episode
Peter: (while drinking communal wine in church) "whoa is this really the blood of Christ?"
Priest: "Yes."
Peter: "Wow, that guy must've been wasted"
Odd that as a Christian, I find this to be less offensive than Jesus Juice. But I can see the humor in both :)

I could be wrong here, but I have been told... back in the day - dudes like Jesus drank wine 'cause it was healthier than the water available. So really JC had to drink the stuff (Funny 'cause I had an uncle who had to drink the stuff too, Jesus went to heaven, and my uncle goes to meetings).

Thanks for that, I forgot about that one! Ah, good old Family Guy....
Maybe it's because I'm desensitized and not easily offended, but I find this absolutely hilarious. Where can I buy some? :D

Why can I picture us stumbling down the streets of old Montreal, each with bottles of clearly-marked Jesus Juice in our hands and being bastards to everybody, all too clearly? :D

I'm going to use that one...

In the showers he'd say....

I dunno, the MJ reference is a bit over the top (for me) - I think it would have been funnier without it...
The HeBrew ale is great though!

The "HeBrew" one is just classical.
The MJ reference to Jesus is a little over the top. If you are using the image of Jesus to sell or advertise wine, why bother with the MJ reference. Seems stupid to me.
Family Guy is the bomb. ;) :)

I've tried some. Quite nice, and not too hard to get here in the UK.
I often saw muslim stalls selling it at student union conferences - it's quite popular with students here.
I gave a bottle to my lecturer, who is quite radical guy, and he was quite chuffed with it - put it on his mantlepiece at home.
The french bit on the top says something like 'Don't drink like an idiot, drink with a conscience!"
10% of profits go to Palestine children apparently.
Also there's another bit on the bottom which says 'Please don't mix with alcohol' - quite funny :)
cheers

But what do you expect; I'm like the worst Jew ever.

I would extend that from religion to just about anything. Society needs to lighten up a bit and realize that some things are just funny. Some are even more so, as they're just SO wrong
Conan O'Brien's Manger Rangers Nativity set was hillarious. It was basically a spoof of an action figure ad. One of the 3 wise men was a spy and had a missle launcher in his cane. It was okay, though because baby Jesus's manger had "real ejector seat action"
